Are you sure that VDP is not available in Essential Plus?
It is not listed, but i found that:
"Q: Do I need additional licenses to use VDP 5.x?
VDP is included with vSphere Essentials Plus and higher."
from here: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2016565
I've changed VDP to green in Essentials.
hi,
could you please tell us whether storage vMotion feature is supported and included in VMware vSphere 5.5/6.0 Essential Plus Kit
Thanks in Advance
Regards,
Vignesh
The documentation denotes vMotion as supported. Not 100% clear if this enables Storage vMotion too.
I have checked a running 5.5 Ess Plus Kit installation. Storage VMotion is not supported. If you try a migration of a running vm, a message comes up "Storage vmotion is not licensed on this host. if you want to move between datastores, shut down the vm...". sth like this.
