Jeah,
i missing the new HP DL380gen8 & HP DL560gen8. Shame on you, VMware.
socke
This hardware listed here is unsupported. I've updated the post to make it more clear.
DL380 Gen8 and DL560 Gen8 are supported.
Good list. One thing here to consider is that the partners have not had time to fully test their hardware yet, so the list might and probably will change as hardware partners do the proper certification.
Cheers
Most of the IBM systems on the list are on the HCL with 5.5 support - 3550 and 3650 M2 and M3's are at least (all I cared to check) - so the list is already obsolete.
I am validating the list regularly.
Is IBM System x3650 M2 supported by ESXi 5.5?
No. IBM System x3650 M2 was last supported at ESX 4.1 U3

List Updated.
- Removed some Systems that are supported now
- Dell added

Does not support? Because the machine is too old?
Is the machine cannot be installed? Or is installed, you can't use?
"Does not support" means that VMware is not going to help when you have problems with that hardware.
Of course, you can install and use it. But when you create a support case at VMware with that hardware they would probably close it.

HP ProLiant BL490c G7 seemes to be supported as far as vmwares site can tell me.
BL490c G7 is not mentioned in HCL or http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/vmware/supportmatrix/hpvmware.html for 5.5
Typo, sorry, was talking about BL460c G7
Keep in mind the vendors do the certification, VMware just posts the information. Talk to the vendor to push them to re-certify if something falls off the list.
Cisco UCS Blades -
B22 M3
B200 M2 / M3
B230 M2
B420 M3
B440 M2
Are now listed at VMware to support ESXi 5.5
Updated Cisco UCS
IBM System x3755 M3 is supported.
and other system X servers also.
pls check the OS support list by IBM:
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/info/x86servers/serverproven/compat/us/nos/vmware.html
but, the VMware HCL is not yet updated with this informations
VMware HCL is now updated. http://www.vmware.com/go/hcl
Please update your list, you're providing false information about vSphere 5.5 hardware compatibility.
For example x3300 M4 (7382) is fully supported.
For Dell server you can download Dell customized ESXi 5.5 image from support.dell.com
Well I have no idea where you're info is coming from but that list is definitely not correct. I had to check if our x3650 M3 would run ESXi 5.5 or not and it does. This info is verified by an IBM representative. On top of that I have just installed ESXi 5.5 on one of our x3650 M3 and it is running just fine.

Source is VMware HCL. Unfortunately it is not 100% consistent. It is listed as not supported here:
http://partnerweb.vmware.com/comp_guide2/detail.php?deviceCategory=server&productid=14618&vcl=true
The system is listed as supported at IBM and on another list by VMware, so i am going to remove x3650 M3.
I am using Dell 2950 with 5.5, i am not sure about the direct support from vmware..
